About the role

Volunteer Kiva Ambassadors help Kiva reach new audiences and lenders through word of mouth and community building. Since 2005, word of mouth has been Kiva's most effective way to grow its community of lenders, and over 40% of lenders who tried Kiva for the first time heard about it from a friend or family member.

This is a waitlist for the next cohort, which will launch in the coming months.

Responsibilities

  • Volunteer approximately 2 hours per week for 6 months supporting Kiva in reaching new audiences and lenders.
  • Start a Kiva giving fund and share it with family, friends, and other networks.
  • Share Kiva's mission with clubs, community associations, places of worship, and other groups.
  • Host a birthday fundraiser for Kiva.
  • Start a Kiva club.
  • Do almost anything you can think of to share Kiva with your network.

  • Access to an exclusive community to connect, share ideas, and learn from one another.
  • Connection with Kiva's leadership team and CEO.
  • Opportunities to learn about financial inclusion and social impact.
  • Resources needed to share Kiva.
  • Recognition through special events, swag, and more.

Requirements

  • Be at least 13 years of age. Participation by those under 18 requires a guardian or parent's permission.
