Kitchen Worker

About the role

Responsible for all operations in a specific kitchen area, including preparing tableware for washing, collecting and cleaning soiled pots, removing garbage and refuse, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety policies and procedures. Ensures quality and efficiency of service while complying with Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies, Internal Control Standards, and information security guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen areas clean and organized.
• Handle tasks such as scraping plates, presoaking silverware, and loading dishwashers.
• Set up and operate dishwashing machines, ensuring proper chemical levels and temperatures.
• Wash, dry, and store dishes, kitchen equipment, and pots in designated areas.
• Remove garbage and refuse, and perform sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing of floors, walls, and equipment.
• Detail clean kitchen equipment, including ovens, fryers, hot boxes, and coolers.
• Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies, including information security and acceptable use policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patrons and maintain a professional demeanor with staff.
• Meet attendance guidelines and complete required SGC training programs within nine months of employment.
• Attend necessary meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Good communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak effectively.
• Ability to understand and comply with policies, procedures, and chemical labels.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Ability to stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods.
• Moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
• Moderate physical activity, including lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
• Exposure to physical risk requiring adherence to safety precautions.
• Able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.

Pay

Starting rate: $16.00 per hour. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
