About the role

We are seeking a reliable and energetic Food Service Worker to join our school nutrition team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for stable, school-hour schedules with no nights, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation, portioning, and packing of school meals.
• Load prepared meals into insulated food carriers or transport carts.
• Safely transport meal carts or containers daily to the adjacent school building next door.
• Set up serving lines at the receiving school and assist with student meal service.
• Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring hot foods stay hot and cold foods stay cold during transit.
• Clean and sanitize transport equipment, workstations, dishes, and kitchen utensils.
• Return empty transport equipment to the main kitchen at the end of the shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if using a district vehicle to move between buildings).
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and push heavy rolling food carts.
• Ability to walk between adjacent campus buildings in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, student-focused attitude.
• Previous experience in food service or school nutrition is a plus, but we will train the right candidate.
• Must pass standard school background checks and fingerprinting.
