Entry-level role assisting lead staff in the production of edible marijuana products, operating kitchen equipment, and maintaining a safe, compliant workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out tasks accurately following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including:
    • General housekeeping (dishwashing, mopping, sweeping, surface cleaning, dusting, trash disposal)
    • Sugaring gummies (running sugar tumbler, sorting, quality control checks)
    • Demolding gummies
    • Depositing gummies (set up/break down, depositing, swapping pistons, changing O-rings, troubleshooting, stirring)
    • Receiving orders (stocking, FIFO inventory checks)
    • Packaging gummies (hand packing, counting, check-weigh, band sealing)
  • Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and checks.
  • Assist in other GDF departments as needed.
  • Operate kitchen machinery following company safety protocols.
  • Adhere to cleaning schedule and regimen.
  • Ensure workspaces are well-stocked and resourced.
  • Maintain kitchen small wares (picking up, cleaning, washing, distributing).
  • Maintain kitchen equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and reporting repair needs.
  • Communicate effectively to address and handle situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly in written and verbal formats.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and management, and to approach conflict constructively.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand and comply with state laws regarding the legal medical marijuana program.
  • Understanding of tasks required in a lab or manufacturing setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in a food handling-related field preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly for most of the day.
  • Ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours at a time.
  • Ability to work in hot/humid conditions.
  • Frequent lifting, standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, repetitive hand use, grasping, and visual activity.
  • Ability to perform fine motor functions.
