Primary Responsibilities
- Installation Assistance: Assist the lead installer in the installation of kitchen fire suppression systems, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications, local building codes, and NFPA standards.
- Inspection Support: Conduct routine inspections of kitchen suppression systems, helping to identify any issues and catch up on past-due work orders.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Support the maintenance and repair of kitchen suppression systems, including exit and emergency lighting and portable fire extinguishers, as needed.
- Coverage for Absences: Help cover inspections in the event of technician call-offs, ensuring continued service without disruption.
- Shop Support: Occasionally assist in the shop with inventory or other tasks as required.
- Documentation: Assist in maintaining accurate records of inspections, tests, maintenance, and repairs performed.
- Training: As part of your role, you will be required to pass the Pre-Engineered and Fire Extinguisher state certification exams (training provided).
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing kitchen fire suppression systems.
Qualifications
- No formal experience required, but familiarity with installation, maintenance, or repair is a plus.
- Ability to interpret basic technical drawings, schematics, and specifications preferred, but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn and earn licenses.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the team.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to climb ladders, use lifts, and work at various heights.
- Able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
- Able to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Requires occasional pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
- Must be able to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Capable of driving company vehicles and transporting equipment or materials when needed.
- Able to remain alert and focused while performing detailed or repetitive tasks.
Compensation
This is an hourly position, based on experience as well as annual compensation raises based on merit.
