Kitchen Supervisor

About the role
This position reports to the Director of F&B and is responsible for supervising all kitchen and stewarding staff while maintaining food costs, budget goals, and high standards of food quality and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Ordering, receiving, and preparing food items
- Maintaining food costs and budget goals
- Producing required product according to Banquet Event Orders for each event
- Maintaining an active role in the local hospitality community and professional associations
- Attending in-house event-related meetings and relaying immediate changes to other departments
- Maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen equipment and ensuring annual maintenance
- Training kitchen and stewarding staff on Serve-Safe and health department regulations
- Maintaining a Health Department score of 90 or higher
- Managing inventory controls and assisting with monthly inventory
- Overseeing the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef
- Training all cooks
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- At least four years of culinary experience in a banquet facility producing meals for large events
- Serve-Safe certified
- Allergens certified
- RBS certified
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Strong orientation to customer service and ability to collaborate with other staff
- Results-oriented with the ability to meet budgetary goals
- Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Excel and other computer programs
- Adherence to local Health Department codes
- Ability to be creative with food presentations while maintaining quality
Physical Demands
The role requires minimal stooping and lifting. Substantial standing, walking, and manual dexterity to operate kitchen and office equipment (such as computers) are essential.
Pay
Base pay rate: $30 - $32 per hour
