Purpose

This role will reach every part of the operations in a dual-job position. While this position is a Shift Coordinator, it will also step in as a line cook to support the kitchen and restaurant operations.

Shift Coordinator Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties as outlined in the Shift Coordinator certification program
  • Sets an example for Team Members by working hard to implement shift plan and ensure swift and smooth production
  • Delegates in a way that encourages teamwork during shift to ensure that the restaurant operations comply with company standards
  • Communicates daily work goals to team from leadership
  • Motivates Team Members to exceed guest expectations with food and friendly service in clean surroundings
  • Works with team to act on guest feedback and resolve complaints in a timely, friendly and professional manner
  • Takes initiative to immediately report violations of safety, sanitation, security and other company policies to restaurant management
  • May never discount their own checks
  • Affixes to manager appearance standards when performing Shift Coordinator duties
  • Demonstrate appropriate professional and ethical behavior, at all times, when interacting with guests, employees, and managers
  • Directs, trains and motivates ongoing shift responsibilities to employees and ensure proper completion of assigned tasks and checklists
  • Follows all procedures and policies to ensure the safety of all employees and guests
  • Affixes and/or completes additional tasks as assigned

Line Cook - Duties & Responsibilities

  • While this position is Shift Coordinator, it will also step in as a line cook to support the kitchen and restaurant needs
  • Prepare all restaurants foods
  • Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of the kitchen
  • Read, measure and execute recipes
  • Read and execute computer tickets for service
  • Apply knife skills required for service and preparation
  • Maintain a solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation
  • Assist Chefs as needed in execution of service
  • Communicate with management, chefs and service staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees
  • Move furniture as directed by management, including but not limited to: tables, chairs, bar stools, banquettes, bar tables, boxes, and equipment
  • Comply with all safety and health department procedures
  • Ensure complete and proper check out procedures
  • Clean all spills immediately and place all trash in proper receptacles
  • Inform management of any complaint, comments or incident
  • Ensure nightly/weekly and opening/running/closing duties are completed
  • Record and report any equipment failure and/or safety hazards to management immediately
  • Affixes and/or completes additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma preferred
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 18+ years of age
  • Possession of or the ability to possess all state-required work cards
  • Minimum of one (2) years related experience
  • Familiarity with Opentable
  • Proper lifting techniques
  • Guest relations
  • Sanitation and safety
  • Safe alcohol service
  • Full-service restaurant operations
  • Ability to communicate effectively and assertively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff, clients, and the public
