About the role

Eataly is the world’s largest artisanal Italian food and beverage marketplace. Each Eataly location is unique, but all share the same mission: for guests to eat authentic Italian food, shop high-quality products, and learn through classes and team knowledge.

The Kitchen Operations Specialist is the main connection between all back-of-house (BOH) departments. This highly organized and detail-oriented individual thrives in a dynamic work environment and reports to the Head Chef. The role leverages culinary experience to support daily BOH operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Executive Chef and Chefs’ Team with daily BOH operations.
  • Collects and distributes recipes and ingredients between outlets.
  • Enters and maintains recipes in Eataly’s database software.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for each BOH outlet for ordering.
  • Maintains order guides, logs, transfer sheets, and SOPs for BOH outlets.
  • Oversees monthly inventories, assists in counting products, enters data into systems, and analyzes gaps.
  • Receives purchase orders from other stores and processes orders for shipment.
  • Acts as a liaison between all inter-store departments and BOH.
  • Assists with basic cooking in the production kitchen as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in kitchen operations.
  • Degree from a culinary arts training program preferred.
  • Experience with inventory management is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is an asset.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Good knife skills and finger dexterity for using small tools and utensils.
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word).
  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, often including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
  • Ability to work with commercial equipment, including stand mixers, ovens, and torches.

Pay

$24.00–$26.00 hourly.
