About the role
WonderWorks is an indoor amusement park for the mind with 35,000 square feet of edu-tainment! The attraction combines education and entertainment with more than 100 hands-on exhibits that challenge the mind and spark the imagination. WonderWorks houses Orlando’s longest-running dinner show! The Outta Control Magic Dinner Show is an interactive, entertaining, and hilariously funny dinner show. A one-of-a-kind entertainment experience with non-stop laughter and engaging audience participation. The dinner includes unlimited fresh, hand-tossed cheese and pepperoni pizza, salad, beer, wine, soda and dessert.
Responsibilities
- Provides exceptional customer service in a timely and responsive manner including responding to guest complaints and team member issues
- Understands & manages Guest Services, Retail, & Food & Beverage processes as needed on shifts
- Estimates food and beverage costs and requisitions or purchases supplies
- Confers with food preparation and other personnel to plan menus and related activities such as dining room, bar, and banquet operations
- Inspects food and food preparation to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations
- Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints
- Reviews financial transactions and monitors budget to ensure efficient operation, and to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations
- Supervises team members, from interviewing to recognition to counseling to exits
- Assigns and coordinates work of employees to promote the efficiency of operations
- Directs preparation of foods and beverages
- Inspects food service facilities to ensure that equipment and buildings meet the requirements of state and local health laws and internal regulations
- Analyzes information concerning facility operations such as daily food sales, patron attendance, and labor costs to prepare budget and to maintain cost control of facility operations
- Contact vendors and suppliers as needed to ensure product delivery/availability
- Place orders for items needed to operate effectively
- Complete monthly profit and loss to maintain an effective food cost
- Ongoing monitoring of food costs and changing pricing as needed
- Ensures the facility maintains a safe and clean environment for all team members and guests
- Manages inventory, stock, and reorders food and merchandise as needed for business to run smoothly
- Effectively trains, manages and empowers team members to provide optimal food and guest service
- Coaches employees and administers disciplinary action or performance plans in cooperation with HR and/or General Manager as applicable
- Inspects operations procedures to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations
- Investigates and resolves item quality and service concerns
- Addresses scheduling needs as applicable
- Supervises conduct, internal control, cash management, financial records, deposits, and payments on shift
- Provides operational support for group and special events as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
- Qualified candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule of 12pm-8pm, and/or 2pm-10pm. This position requires the ability to work any shift weekend including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Cash-handling experience and basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change
- Ability to comprehend written and verbal communication
- Ability to multi-task, work independently, and make reasonable & ethical decisions quickly within a fast-paced environment
- 2+ years of Operations Management in Guest Services, Retail, and Food & Beverage experience required to allow for optimal success
- 1+ years of food and beverage experience supervising/leading a team in a kitchen setting
- Previous management experience in an attraction, theme park, or high-volume entertainment venue environment is preferred
Physical Demands
Ability to climb, bend, kneel, stoop, stand, and walk throughout the work area for prolonged periods
Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

$52,500+
Schedule
Flexible schedule of 12pm-8pm, and/or 2pm-10pm. This position requires the ability to work any shift weekend including nights, weekends, and holidays.
