About the Role

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations at the Southern Utah Veterans Home in Ivins, St. George, UT. This role ensures the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals that meet dietary requirements and safety standards for our veteran residents. The Kitchen Manager will lead kitchen staff, manage inventory, and maintain compliance with health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and serving.
• Manage kitchen staff schedules, training, and performance to maintain a productive and efficient team.
• Ensure all meals meet nutritional guidelines and special dietary needs of residents.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Order and manage inventory of food, supplies, and equipment to minimize waste and control costs.
• Collaborate with dietary and nursing staff to accommodate resident preferences and medical requirements.
• Prepare reports related to kitchen operations, inventory, and staffing as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or food service management certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in kitchen management or supervisory role, preferably in healthcare or residential care settings.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and dietary requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency in inventory management and ordering systems.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.

Work Environment

This position is based at the Southern Utah Veterans Home in Ivins, St. George, UT. The Kitchen Manager will work primarily in a kitchen environment and may be required to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
