Kitchen Manager $21-$25 + 401K + Benefits

Kalapawai Cafe and Deli Waimanalo is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to join our management team. We want someone who thrives in a kitchen environment, enjoys crafting tasty specials, and can handle a busy kitchen with a positive and collaborative attitude.

Schedule

• 36–40 hours per week, plus overtime as needed
• Open 7 days a week, 6 am–8 pm
• Weekend and holiday shifts required as scheduled

Pay

• $21–$25 per hour, plus tips (average additional $4–$7 per hour)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with restaurant and front-of-house management during service and events
• Line cooking and restocking/cleaning the line
• Receiving, checking in, and storing deliveries
• Product ordering, inventory control, and portion/quality control
• Ensuring a high-quality customer experience and resolving complaints
• Personnel management, conflict resolution, and general cleaning/facilities maintenance
• Organizing prep, cleaning, and duty lists
• Scheduling, event organization, and catering coordination
• Additional duties as assigned upon training completion

Requirements

• Valid food handler’s card and Food Safety Certification
• Experience cutting meat and fish
• Excellent guest service skills and ability to problem-solve on the fly
• Professional appearance and positive, hardworking attitude
• Availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Strong organization and punctuality
• Commitment to fostering positive guest and employee experiences
• Ability to work well in a team and thrive in a high-tempo, fast-paced restaurant environment
• Valid TB test
