Kitchen KITCHEN UTILITY WORKER - COOK

About the role

The University of Georgia is seeking a temporary Kitchen KITCHEN UTILITY WORKER - COOK to assist with preparation and presentation of food for the Savannah Room, Courtyard Café, Training Table, and/or Banquets (AM/PM).

Responsibilities

• Kitchen prep (cutting meat and vegetables, preparing food for service, maintenance of event food levels).
• Prepare custom food for specific outlets within the Center.
• Keep preparation and work stations clean and organized.
• Occasionally work with staff to help plate up and move plated banquets meals to event area.

Requirements

This is a temporary position that will last less than 12 months and is not eligible for benefits. Temporary employees will be considered for full-time positions when they are available. Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the materials methods and equipment used in preparing food on a large scale.
• Stand on feet for long period of time, work quickly in a fast paced environment. Handle large quantities of food prep at time. Lift heavy objects.

Minimum $16/hour

Schedule

Up to 40 hours per week based on business needs. Hours are not guaranteed. May be required to work when the University is closed.
