About the role
To organize and properly prepare trays of food from the kitchen service line for server staff in the Oxford Grill area. Responsible for ensuring the overall effectiveness of guest service in the Oxford Grill dining room. Greets and seats guests for food and beverage service, maintains seating flow, and ensures a warm and inviting atmosphere. Provides direction to guests as needed, demonstrates dignity, kindness, and respect, and adheres to company standards and directives.
Responsibilities
- Interpret food orders coming through kitchen printer from dining room
- Organize orders for service
- Prepare food trays from completed kitchen line items and organize on trays for service staff
- Prepare and serve appropriate side sauces with kitchen items
- Keep station and kitchen service area neat and organized
- Maintain beverage service and food service trays in a neat, clean, and organized manner
- Maintain strict quality control on all food being served, ensuring proper temperature, presentation, and accompaniments
- Maintain server drop-off and pick-up areas of the kitchen, including:
- Wine/beer service areas
- Dishwasher station
- Expo Station
- Server Salad Station
- Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and demonstrate teamwork
- Assist in delivering and dispensing items ordered by guests, including beverages and food
- Operate equipment such as coffee and iced tea makers, soda, juice, and milk dispensers
- Act as a role model for the company and respond to questions positively
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced, stressful environment
- Use communication devices such as telephones, bulletin boards, pagers, two-way radios, and guest paging systems
- Maintain great guest relations and provide opportunities for guest loyalty
- Push carts of dishes approximately 100 feet; stock plates, glasses, cups, and needed products
- Maintain confidentiality and security of relevant information
- Operate within applicable laws and guidelines
- Greet guests warmly on arrival and departure in the Oxford Grill dining room
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the host podium and dining room floor
- Interact with guests to maintain relations and foster loyalty
- Demonstrate successful interpersonal skills when working with diverse people and levels of authority
Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age (if under 21, able to secure a gaming permit from the State of Maine until 21st birthday)
- Must attain a TIPS certification according to Casino and State guidelines
- Must be able to work any shift needed
- Multi-task ability and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision while showing a sense of urgency
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
- Show dignity, kindness, and respect to guests and team members
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Work may require physical exertion such as reaching, standing, and walking. The role involves working in a fast-paced, stressful environment while remaining calm, collected, and detail-oriented.
