Kitchen Dishwasher PRN

About the role

Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards. Located at McKay‑Dee Hospital Culinary Services in Ogden, Utah.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes dishes
• Collects carts with patient trays from hospital floors
• Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures
• Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash
• Operates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g., commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures
• Performs pot washing, dish collection from patient care areas, dish scraping, waste removal
• Maintains cleanliness throughout the kitchen operation
• Works around water and standard dishwashing chemicals
• Demonstrates strong collaboration abilities, working effectively with diverse teams to achieve department objectives

Qualifications

• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work (required only in Utah and Idaho)
• Ability to read color‑coded labels and chemicals
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions
• Ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred)

Pay

Hourly rate based on experience: $17.43 – $22.29 per hour.

Schedule

• PRN position to cover vacant Dishwasher/Steward shifts in Culinary Services
• Requires flexible schedule – mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Most PRN caregivers work 2‑3 shifts per week as needed
• Scheduled weekly hours: 0 (PRN)
