Kitchen Coordinator

Essential Functions

• Collaborate with Director of Food & Event Services to plan for F&E Services needs for all upcoming events ranging from Staff Break to annual Women's Conference to outside rentals with more than 700 guest; lead and execute F&E services during events.
• Aid Director of Events and Special Projects with accounting, ordering, inventory management, and other administrative tasks.
• Demonstrate a heart for hospitality for guests and participants in all Christ Church and outside rental events.
• Assist in planning and preparing menus and welcoming spaces for gatherings from 15-500.

Other Key Responsibilities

• Participate in Christ Church staff life by attending all-staff meetings, church sponsored events, worship, training events and contributing to a culture of collaboration and encouragement.
• Support church-wide initiatives and special events – assist with Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day services, outreach and mission events by serving in flexible roles beyond primary ministry responsibilities.
• Engage in ongoing personal and professional development through training, reading, coaching or mentoring, to grow as a leader and servant of Christ.
• Collaborate across ministries to ensure alignment, share resources, and strengthen unity on our staff teams.
• Demonstrate and model Christ Church’s core values in daily work, relationships and service to others.
• Maintain a posture of flexibility by assisting with projects or assignments outside the immediate scope of the role when needed.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma
• Preferred Qualifications: 1-3 years | restaurant, catering or service industry with experience in large events.
• Spiritual Development: Support and model individual spiritual formation i.e. Worship, Grow and Serve. (Weekly worship, prayer, scripture reading, small group, volunteering/service, etc.).

• Physical Demands & Work Environment: Kitchen & food prep duties include lifting heavy objects (boxes, pots, coffee); Knowledge and certification in food safety; Must be able to stand and move about the building for many hours during events and limited hours weekly for kitchen clean up and inventory management; Works in both office and kitchen setting; Needs own transportation to shop for and pick up food; Working knowledge of and ability to use kitchen equipment.
• Core Competencies: Use of software systems like Concur, Microsoft Office, eSpace, Touchpoint & vendor ordering platforms; Need food handler's certification; Communicate, organize and delegate volunteer roles; Ability to collaborate with director and team regarding event logistics planning & execution; Strong work ethic; Willingness to work hard and be personable with guests for many hours during events; Communicates with clarity and warmth across diverse audiences; Demonstrates integrity, humility, and alignment with Christ Church’s values; Collaborates effectively across teams and ministries; Learns quickly and adapts to new tools, systems, and challenges; Coaches and develops others, bringing out the best in people; Resolves conflicts constructively and maintains healthy relationships.
