About the Role

The Kitchen Lead assists with all duties pertaining to the kitchen, supervising and supporting the Kitchen Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising and training kitchen personnel, including setting expectations.
  • Complete daily checklists and submit them to the manager.
  • Assist in scheduling all kitchen employees.
  • Ensure proper rotation of cure coolers is maintained.
  • Verify all products meet Carlton Farms specifications.
  • Ensure the team follows all company and USDA rules and regulations.
  • Address product complaints and out-of-spec products (e.g., mis-labeling, mis-packing).
  • Foster teamwork within the kitchen staff.
  • Ensure new employees are properly trained and welcomed.
  • Report equipment issues in the kitchen to maintenance.
  • Process import products in a timely manner and verify they meet Carlton Farms specifications before curing.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the break room, spice room, and production areas.
  • Walk through cooler, freezer, and holding cooler areas before leaving to ensure all items are labeled and stored properly.

Requirements

  • Capable of heavy lifting (50-100 lbs).
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods.

Schedule

Work hours vary and may exceed a 40-hour work week.
