Responsible for the preparation of Breakfast and Lunch for residents and employees according to the planned menu cycle.

Responsibilities

• Obtains daily Production Sheet from the Dietary office
• Prepares breakfast and lunch according to the menu using approved, standardized recipes
• Keeps all equipment and work area clean
• Unloads produce, meat, dry goods, frozen foods, cleaning supplies, and some small equipment
• Performs final clean-up for the Dietary department: sweep and mop floors, empty garbage, follow Daily Cleaning Schedule
• Keeps walk-in cooler and freezer clean with foods stored properly
• Assists in loading/unloading dish racks and puts clean dishes away
• Turns in Food Production Sheets to Dietary office at end of shift
• Acts as designee for the Food Service Supervisor during hours when supervisor is not present
• Provides leadership in the event of any safety or unusual incident occurring in the facility
• Interacts with patients in the serving line and offers assistance with meal choices for a balanced, nutritional meal
• Participates in Dietary departmental meetings
• Participates in weekly Dietary-related conferences with the Food Service Supervisor
• Complies with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations, and Risk Management
• Follows all Health Center and departmental policies and procedures
• Checks Production Sheet for foods needing to be prepared for the next day
• Preserves confidentiality as authorized in Spanish Cove policy
• Complies with the Employee’s Code of Ethics
• Stays overtime in case of emergency
• Attends monthly in-service education meetings

Requirements

• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather (essential employee position)
• Frequent lifting and moving required
• Ability to lift, move, push, pull, and transfer 50 lbs with physical capability to perform all job-related duties

Pay

$14.00 per hour

Schedule

Shift: 10:00 am – 6:30 pm; must be available weekends and holidays.
