A Day In The Life
- Prepare healthy and appealing food
- Utilize sound sanitation standards to meet district, state, and federal guidelines
- Serve food so that students and staff receive their food in a timely and friendly manner
- Assist in tasks necessary for efficient functioning of the food service program (washing dishes, scanning tickets, cleaning, organizing)
- Track inventory and communicate with the manager
- Maintain confidentiality
- Perform deep cleaning/defrosting tasks
- Maintain HACCP compliance by monitoring temperatures of foods, dishwasher, etc.
Profile of a Successful Candidate
- Pass a background check
- Have a current TB test
- Team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math and computer skills
- Knowledge of state health regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food Safety Basics-State Department of Education
- Kitchen experience recommended
Environment
- Elevated temperatures from extremely hot to extremely cold (freezer)
- Noisy and crowded environment
- Standing for 80% of the day and walking for 20%
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Fine finger dexterity used
