About the role

ANEW provides innovative residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment services to women and women with children. ANEW believes that women can achieve and maintain sobriety by providing therapeutic treatment services, recovery resources, and a sober supportive living environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for clients and staff.
  • Perform all kitchen duties, including food preparation, cooking, baking, meal service, and kitchen cleanup.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and pantry in compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Promote healthy eating by preparing fresh, balanced meals using high-quality ingredients.
  • Foster a welcoming, positive, and respectful dining environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
  • Engage with clients, including mothers and their children, in a kind, supportive, and encouraging manner.
  • Assist with organizational events, including fundraisers, holiday celebrations, and other special activities.
  • Support client safety and supervision during mealtimes and while residents complete assigned kitchen chores.
  • Demonstrate reliability through consistent attendance and flexibility to assist with additional shifts as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional cooking or commercial kitchen experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing nutritious meals in large quantities.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dry storage areas.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current ServSafe® Food Handler or Food Manager Certification required (or ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe, if applicable).

Pay and Schedule

WAGE RANGE: $21.00 - $23.00 hourly. SHIFT HOURS: Friday, 10am-3pm and Saturday-Monday, 9:30am-6:30pm: 32 hours
