Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Kitchen Assistant/Driver assists the Title VI Director and Head Cook in delivering meal services to seniors and supporting the Elderly Nutrition Center's Congregate and Home Delivered meals programs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals to individuals' homes on assigned routes according to program procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tribal vehicles and report issues to the director.
• Aid in food preparation and serving tasks.
• Clean food preparation areas, dishes, and cooking utensils.
• Assist with special duties as directed by the cook or management.
• Support dining room operations, particularly during staff shortages and holidays.
• Order and maintain inventory/supplies, ensuring temperature control and logs are accurate.
• Attend all required meetings and training sessions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license
• Good driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification
• Current Food Handler’s Permit

Qualifications

• Previous food service experience preferred
• Good customer relations, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Positive human interaction skills
• Ability to work independently

• Customer service orientation
• Physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, and lifting
• Basic computer skills for managing inventory and scheduling
