Location: 623 S Nardo Ave, Solana Beach, CA 92075 • Reports to: Principal • Part-time, up to 24 hours/week • FLSA Status: Exempt • Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour based on experience and education

Responsibilities
- Work closely with the teacher in coordinating and implementing the curriculum of the school and rules of the classroom
- Help in supervising the children in the classroom as well as on the playground
- Work cooperatively and efficiently as a team member
- Assist teacher in setting up the learning environment and guiding children through learning activities
- Supervise and monitor classroom and playground activities to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Religious Qualifications
- Active, practicing Roman Catholic (Required)
- Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy
Professional Qualifications
- Experience working with children
- Positive references and recommendations
- Clear criminal background check (a clear Livescan for the Diocese of San Diego is a condition of employment)
- Professional demeanor
- CPR and First Aid certification upon hire
- Cleared TB test to work in a Licensed Childcare Facility
- Completion of the Diocesan Safe Environment Protocol upon hire
- Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic School philosophy, goals, and objectives
- Understanding of child development and skills necessary to relate to the students
- Can-do, positive attitude
- Works cooperatively and collaboratively
Physical Requirements
- Spend the majority of the day standing in the classroom; frequently hold objects while demonstrating
- Sit occasionally when developing lesson plans, grading, etc.
- Walk through the classroom and maneuver in tight spaces between desks
- Walk on both even and uneven surfaces
- Kneel, squat, stoop, or bend to interact with students
- Reach at, below, or above shoulder height; may require trunk or neck rotation
- Assist in moving children’s desks and chairs to change classroom layout
- Occasionally lift and carry boxes weighing up to 25 pounds from the office to classrooms
- Regularly required to be inside the classroom and mobile within the school facility
- May be required to travel to city and county-wide locations for trainings or workshops
