About the role

Provide leadership to effectively plan, coordinate and implement programs of instruction that ensure students opportunities to reach their highest social, emotional and academic potential.

Responsibilities

• Meet and instruct assigned classes in the location and at the time designated.
• Select and present materials required in the teaching assignment within the framework of the content limitations of state and system curriculum guides.
• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.

• Prepare for classes assigned and show evidence of preparation upon request of principal or designee.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Provide adequate background information and materials when substitute teacher is to assume responsibilities.
• Maintain satisfactory attendance defined by system or local school handbook.
• Comply with conditions stated in contract of employment.
• Comply with the federal, state and local board of education requirements for the development of educationally appropriate instruction.
• Absorb and implement all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct and work cooperatively with all staff members in attaining school goals and objectives.
• Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
• Attend staff, department, team, or grade level meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
• Participate as required in the appropriate state annual evaluation process.
• Perform such additional responsibilities as may be assigned by the building administrators.

Requirements

• Minimum of Associate degree from an accredited college or university and state required certification.
• If you have an associates degree or higher, you can provide an official transcript to HR and we will get your certification.
• If not, you will need to sign up, take the Parapro GACE, and pass the GACE (at your expense).

Qualifications

• Ability to organize, coordinate, plan, and direct the implementation of a comprehensive classroom instructional program.
• Proficiency required in oral and written communication, interpersonal relations, and competency in counseling and evaluating student needs.
• Successful teacher training and/or teaching experiences at the level to which assigned.
