About the role

The Kindergarten Paraeducator provides direct support to students in Kindergarten, ensuring they have the necessary assistance to succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally. Working under the supervision of a certified teacher(s), the Paraeducator assists with general daily classroom activities including classroom instruction, behavioral management, and individualized student needs.

Responsibilities

• Assists with general daily classroom activities including classroom instruction, behavioral management, and individualized student needs.
• Supports students in academic, social, and behavioral areas to ensure they are successful in Kindergarten.

Requirements

• Hold or be eligible for a Paraprofessional license from the Illinois State Board of Education.
• Full-time, 10-month, 180-day school year position.

• Experience working with children in a school setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and provide individualized attention to students.

Pay

• $19.10 per hour starting salary.
• Starting salary of $20.10 per hour for those with 3 years of experience as a paraeducator or who hold a Bachelors degree.
