Kindergarten Assistant

About the role
We are seeking a part-time Catholic Kindergarten Assistant to assist in the Kindergarten classroom in a classical and Catholic program for the 2026-2027 academic year. No teaching certification, childcare experience, or formal teaching experience is required. The right applicant may have experience caring for young children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, or teaching their own children.
Regina Caeli Academy is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Childcare/nursery is provided.
Responsibilities
- Work as a team with the lead teacher to provide a safe and joyful environment for children.
- Assist with classroom management and instruction according to Regina Caeli Academy standards, based on the methods of St. John Bosco.
- Follow provided curriculum and classroom guidelines.
Requirements
- Deep love for the Catholic faith and ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
- Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all sacraments appropriate to your state in life.
- Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
- Traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
- Must be available to attend one mandatory training day on August 12, 13, or 14, 2026 (8am–5pm; no childcare provided, nursing babies welcome).
- Clear background check and completion of RCA Safe Child training before teaching.
Schedule
- Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00am – 3:30pm.
- No additional vacation days (accommodations made for sick days as needed).
