Kiln Tender Trainee

Responsibilities
- Total commitment to working safely and following all safety rules and regulations
- Responsible for safely operating the dry kilns and conducting housekeeping activities in each assigned area
- Moving loaded kiln cars into and out of the dry kilns
- Monitoring the computer control system used in operating the kilns to dry lumber to tight specifications
- Performing minor maintenance and repairs to the dry kilns
- Interpreting work instructions adequately and successfully completing tasks as assigned

Benefits

Pay
- During the training period, the pay rate is $19.94 per hour.
- Upon successful completion of the training period the pay is increased to $22.14 per hour, with potential to $24.04.

Additional Information
- All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED
- Applicants must attach a resume detailing education and work history
- Steady, documented work history
- Able to perform basic math and basic computer skills
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to work any shift, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to work in extreme heat, humidity and cold
- Ability to perform the essential job functions of the position, which includes climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, and bending
- Experience operating forklift or other mobile equipment strongly preferred
