KILN OPERATOR - Exit of Bisque (C) (El Paso, Texas, United States, 79934)

Primary Objective

Maintains efficiency of the tile firing process.

Major Function and Scope

• Maintains process efficiency by monitoring tile movement through the kiln.
• Ensures quality by inspecting tile for defects.
• Records kiln temperature hourly.
• Collects tile samples for laboratory analysis.
• Monitors equipment and processes, reporting issues to supervisor.
• Fulfills ISO operating procedures and control plans.
• Maintains a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues.

Experience and Knowledge Required

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good record-keeping skills.
• Good listening skills.
• Accurate measurement capability.
• Ability to understand and speak basic English.

Other Duties As Required

• Maintain a clean work station.
• Conform to all safety and health requirements.
• Be available for shift changes.

• Identify and adjust workstation arrangements, work practices, and workflows to reduce risks.
• Report issues to supervisor/manager when unable to control risks.
• Report symptoms of injury/illness and concerns when first noted.
• Participate in incident investigations.
