About the role
The Kiln Operator will monitor the movement of tile through the kiln firing process for the production of ceramic tile manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Maintains efficiency of the kiln firing process by monitoring tile movement.
- Ensures quality of tile by inspecting for defects.
- Records kiln temperature hourly during shift.
- Collects tile samples for laboratory analysis.
- Monitors and reports equipment/process issues to supervisor.
- Fulfills ISO operating procedures and control plans.
- Supports a positive team environment by collaborating and communicating with colleagues.
- Maintains a clean work station, adheres to safety and health regulations, and attends shift change promptly.
- Completes required training, including ergonomic, safety, health, and environmental.
- Adjusts workstation arrangements, work practices, and workflows to minimize risks.
- Reports any injuries, illnesses, or concerns to supervisor/manager.
- Participates in incident investigations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good record-keeping skills.
- Good listening skills.
- Accurate measurement capability.
- Basic English language proficiency.
Qualifications
- Ability to follow ISO operating procedures and control plans.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment.
- Ability to work in a variety of temperature conditions.
