Kids Creative Director

Job Summary

To plan, organize, and execute all special events and guest experiences for Kids Ministry as we work together to see people changed by the Truth of Jesus. Supervisory Responsibilities Enlist, train, encourage, and manage special event volunteers, including greeters, atrium desk volunteers, and student leaders. Recruit and manage the VBS Motions Team, including creating motions and scheduling weekly rehearsals leading up to Vacation Bible School. Oversee volunteer coordination for large group events and ministry experiences.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Oversee volunteer coordination for large group events and ministry experiences.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Oversee all creative and guest experiences, as well as the organization, promotion, implementation, and follow-up of special events including, but not limited to, Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, VBS, Kids Camp, mission trips, and other ministry events.
• Assist with set-up and tear-down of all Kids Ministry events and environments.
• Plan to work the Atrium desk on non-event Sundays as needs and responsibilities arise.
• Resource photo booths, decorations, food, and other creative elements with outside vendors for each event.
• Cook with the Resource and Finance Coordinator on items needed for each event.
• Cook with internal departments including Communications, Broadcast, and Facilities to prepare, execute, and support Kids Ministry events.
• Cook with the Communications department in preparing, ordering, and streamlining all marketing, print work, Canva graphics, and creative materials needed for Kids Ministry events.
• Cook with the Communications to schedule photography for special Sundays and events.
• Create, update, and maintain curriculum themes and creative assets to support ministry events and classroom environments.
• Maintain Kids Ministry social media presence on Facebook and Instagram, including organizing a social media calendar and posting a variety of content several times each week.
• Promote weekly and yearly special events through Connect Groups, Bible studies, social media, and other ministry communication channels.
• Plan, coordinate, and prepare Vacation Bible School large group experiences by organizing behind-the-scenes processes with Communications, Facilities, Broadcast, and the Lead Pastor.
• Create itineraries for guests, conferences, and ministry events.
• Track, update, and create address labels for Christmas cards and other ministry mailings.
• Decorate and maintain the Rally Room to reflect the monthly curriculum theme and create an engaging environment for kids.
• Cook with collaborators and execute projects, events, and schedules as needed.
• Be flexible in supporting the Kids Pastor’s specific day-to-day needs.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Be an active member of Green Acres Baptist Church
• Understand and fulfill the mission and vision of Green Acres Baptist Church
• Ability to listen effectively and to communicate clearly to supervisor, team members, children, and their parents/caregivers
• Strong people skills
• Strong organizational skills; detail oriented
• Proficiency in Microsoft programs, PowerPoint, Excel, Canva, and social media
• Have a high commitment to moral and ethical standards, striving in all actions to be pure of heart, mind, and deed
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen as well as criminal and sexual misconduct background checks

Education And Experience

• High school degree required; college degree preferred

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up-to 25 pounds at a time and assist in event set-up and teardown.
• The ability to work on site in the Green Acres offices.
