About the Role
ABC7 KGO-TV is the Bay Area's news leader, delivering breaking news, weather, and live video. Producing more than 45 hours of live newscasts every week, ABC7 Eyewitness News is widely recognized for its solution-based journalism and advocacy with legacy franchises Seven on Your Side and I-Team. The role involves directing live newscasts and local production for a respected and valued community resource serving San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and the greater Bay Area.
Responsibilities
- Direct daily newscasts and production as required.
- Work closely with newscast producers, anchors, reporters, production, and engineering staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Operational knowledge and/or working experience with:
- Ross Overdrive Automation System
- Vinten Robotics
- Xpression graphics
- Dalet systems
- A strong sense of newscast structure and significant hands-on experience operating in a computer-assisted environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to easily adapt within an organization and solid people skills.
- Actively seeks out challenges, developing solutions independently without waiting for instruction, while focusing on outcomes rather than obstacles.
- Flexible schedule and ability to work multiple day parts including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Minimum 5 years in television production.
- BA in Communications or equivalent preferred.
Pay
This position is covered under the Director’s Guild of America Agreement. The annual pay range for this DGA role in San Francisco, CA is $755 daily to $3,054 weekly.
