About the Role
ABC7 KGO-TV is the Bay Area's news leader, delivering breaking news, weather and live video on-air and 24/7 wherever you stream. Producing more than 45 hours of live newscasts every week, ABC7 Eyewitness News is widely recognized for its solution-based journalism and advocacy with legacy franchises Seven on Your Side and I-Team. ABC7 is a respected and valued community resource, serving San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and the greater Bay Area.
KGO-TV/ABC7 News is seeking a fast, accurate, and creative Digital Producer to join our growing digital team. The Digital Producer is responsible for writing, editing, and publishing compelling news content across ABC7's digital platforms, including the website, mobile apps, streaming channels, and all social media platforms.
Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and publish compelling news content across ABC7's digital platforms
- Manage content for website, mobile apps, streaming channels, and all social media platforms
- Respond quickly to breaking news and meet tight deadlines
- Experiment with new digital storytelling formats
- Engage audiences through social media practices
- Utilize digital metrics and analytics to inform content decisions
Requirements
- At least three years' experience working in a digital content environment
- Experience with breaking news in a digital newsroom
- Strong editorial skills and news judgment
- Awareness of digital audiences
- Excellent communication, grammar, writing, and AP-style proficiency
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and respond quickly to breaking news
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, or any assigned shift
Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic image editing or video editing software (i.e. Canva, Adobe)
- Familiarity with social strategy, SEO, and emerging digital platforms
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, or similar nonlinear editing tools
- Experience in a newsroom, digital production, or video production environment
Skills
- Passion for local news
- Strong understanding of social media practices aimed at engaging audiences
- Working knowledge of digital metrics and analytics
- Strong editorial judgment and awareness of digital audiences
Pay
$65,200 - $87,400 per year in San Francisco, CA. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, dependent on the level and position offered.
