Job Summary

ABC7 KGO-TV, an ABC Owned Television Station serving San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and the greater Bay Area, is seeking a Digital Producer to join their growing digital team. The ideal candidate is passionate about local news, thrives under deadline pressure, and is eager to experiment with new digital storytelling formats.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and publish compelling news content across ABC7's digital platforms, including the website, mobile apps, streaming channels, and all social media platforms.
• Experiment with new digital storytelling formats and engage audiences through social media strategies.
• Collaborate with the newsroom to produce high-quality, timely content that meets digital audience expectations.
• Use digital metrics and analytics to inform content decisions and improve performance.

Requirements

• Experience with breaking news in a digital newsroom.
• Knowledge of basic image editing or video editing software (e.g., Canva, Adobe).
• Familiarity with social strategy, SEO, and emerging digital platforms.
• At least three years' experience working in a digital content environment.
• Strong editorial skills, news judgment, and awareness of digital audiences.
• Excellent communication, grammar, writing, and AP style proficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and respond quickly to breaking news.
• Experience with Canva, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, or similar nonlinear editing tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, or any assigned shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, majoring in Journalism or Communications.

Pay & Benefits

The hiring range for this position in San Francisco, CA is $65,200 - $87,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
