What You'll Do
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to manage and grow sales within the assigned key accounts portfolio.
- Build strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, acting as their main point of contact for sales-related inquiries and concerns.
- Understand the unique needs and requirements of each key account, tailoring product and service offerings to meet their specific needs.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to assess their performance, identify opportunities for growth, and provide solutions to enhance their business outcomes.
- Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders; or converse with customers via phone.
- Display or demonstrate product, using samples or catalog, emphasizing salable features.
- Quote prices and credit terms; prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Estimate and communicate delivery date to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
- Prepare reports of business transactions and maintain expense accounts.
- Collaborate with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Collaborate with other internal departments.
- Cook up customer product training.
- Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
- Maintain product knowledge.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance sales performance.
- Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and updates to the sales manager and other stakeholders.
- Attend trade shows.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify potential opportunities and threats.
- Coordinate customer product training.
- Collaborate with other internal departments.
- Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
- Maintain product knowledge.

What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years sales or marketing related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in the industry or with similar products/services is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent presentation and persuasion skills.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.

- Moderate computer skills. Familiar with web navigation, experience working with databases.
- Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
