Kernersville, NC - SEC Small Engine Mechanic

Essential Functions

• Diagnose, inspect, operate, test, and repair small engine equipment for proper operation.
• Completes work requests as required by the shop supervisor.
• Inspects vehicles and equipment to properly diagnose defects and repair.
• Reviews vehicle service history for comebacks and repeat mechanical failures.
• Completes maintenance or repairs as required to return assets to the fleet.
• Advises vehicle status after diagnosing mechanical failures.
• Affords assistance with fleet management, assessing repairs or service needs of the vehicle.
• Orders repair parts and charges parts to vehicle work orders in the Fleet Management Software system.
• Completes preventative maintenance services on all company-owned equipment.
• Inputs labor and repair information into the QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills and math aptitude are fundamental.
• Must have air brake, hydraulic, preventive maintenance, and DOT inspection experience.
• Education: High School Diploma or completion of a vocational training program in the area of automotive, diesel or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Three years full-time mechanic experience repairing small-engine diesel, gasoline, and off-road equipment.
