Essential Functions
- Diagnose, inspect, operate, test, and repair small engine equipment for proper operation.
- Completes work requests as required by the shop supervisor.
- Inspects vehicles and equipment to properly diagnose defects and repair.
- Reviews vehicle service history for comebacks and repeat mechanical failures.
- Completes maintenance or repairs as required to return assets to the fleet.
- Advises vehicle status after diagnosing mechanical failures.
- Affords assistance with fleet management, assessing repairs or service needs of the vehicle.
- Orders repair parts and charges parts to vehicle work orders in the Fleet Management Software system.
- Completes preventative maintenance services on all company-owned equipment.
- Inputs labor and repair information into the QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills and math aptitude are fundamental.
- Must have air brake, hydraulic, preventive maintenance, and DOT inspection experience.
- Education: High School Diploma or completion of a vocational training program in the area of automotive, diesel or heavy equipment maintenance.
- Three years full-time mechanic experience repairing small-engine diesel, gasoline, and off-road equipment.
