About the role
Mills Nursing and Rehab is seeking a Kentucky Medication Aide (KMA) to join our team!
Responsibilities
- Support our nursing staff by safely and accurately administering medications to residents
- Helping to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained
- Part of a supportive and collaborative care team in a fast-paced long-term care environment
- Build meaningful relationships with residents
- Play a key role in residents' daily care and treatment
- Provide residents with medication administration and treatment assistance and services according to the health care provider's orders
- Supervise residents who self-administer medication while following company and regulatory guidelines
- Report any changes in residents' physical condition and/or behaviors
- Maintain resident records regarding medication distribution, leisure activities, incidents, and observations
Requirements
- KMA certification required
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of KMA experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience working directly with older adults is preferred
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Must enjoy working with the senior population
