About the role

Mills Nursing and Rehab is seeking a Kentucky Medication Aide (KMA) to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Support our nursing staff by safely and accurately administering medications to residents
• Helping to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained
• Part of a supportive and collaborative care team in a fast-paced long-term care environment
• Build meaningful relationships with residents
• Play a key role in residents' daily care and treatment
• Provide residents with medication administration and treatment assistance and services according to the health care provider's orders
• Supervise residents who self-administer medication while following company and regulatory guidelines
• Report any changes in residents' physical condition and/or behaviors
• Maintain resident records regarding medication distribution, leisure activities, incidents, and observations

Requirements

• KMA certification required
• High school diploma or GED
• One year of KMA experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Previous experience working directly with older adults is preferred
• Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Must enjoy working with the senior population
