Kennel Worker
About the role
North Davidson Veterinary Hospital, located in the Lexington / Welcome area, has dedicated over forty years to serving clients and their pets. We are seeking experienced staff who demonstrate compassion and care for all animals while effectively communicating with our doctors and team members.
The ideal candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekend and holiday rotations, and possess the ability to multi-task along with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Schedule
Hours are as follows:
- Monday–Friday: 10:00 AM–7:00 PM
- Rotating Weekends:
- Saturday: 7:00 AM–11:00 AM and 2:00 PM–6:00 PM
- Sunday: 7:00 AM–10:00 AM and 4:00 PM–6:00 PM
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week (including weekend and holiday rotations).
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Feeding, watering, and walking animals in all weather conditions.
- Cleaning cages, runs, sweeping/mopping floors, laundry, dishes, restrooms, and outside grounds.
- Assisting technicians during downtime.
- Scheduling boarding appointments over the phone and in the computer system.
