Kennel Worker
About the role
We are seeking a Part Time Kennel Technician to join our team at Swift Creek Animal Hospital. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and wellness of our boarded animals. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for the animals, as well as providing excellent customer service to their owners. Your primary goal will be to ensure that our animal guests are comfortable and happy during their stay with us.
Responsibilities
- Feeding and watering animals according to their specific dietary needs
- Cleaning and sanitizing kennels and walking areas
- Assisting with animal bathing
- Assisting Veterinary Assistants and DVMs with restraint for sample collection and exams
- Cleaning and packing surgical instruments, towels, and gowns
Requirements
- Previous experience in animal husbandry and handling
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays (we do have a boarding facility so we still need kennel techs to walk and feed boarders even when we are closed for holidays)
Skills
As a Kennel Technician, you will utilize your animal husbandry and animal handling skills on a daily basis. You will also use your sanitization skills to maintain a clean and safe environment for our animal guests. Overall, your skills will be crucial in ensuring the health and happiness of our animal guests.
Schedule
This position is primarily for two to three weekday afternoon shifts (3-6pm) one to two weekends per month.
