About the role
Lafayette Veterinary Care Center is seeking a Pet Care Specialist to join our dedicated team. This role focuses on providing exceptional care for our boarding patients.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional demeanor and use of medical terminology
- Monitor, feed, water, medicate, exercise, and clean up after patients (inside and out)
- Clean suites, runs, and feline condos
- Prepare kenneling areas for the arrival and departure of patients
- Bring animals to and from kenneling areas during check-in and check-out times
- Provide client education and maintain a professional and friendly attitude
- Routinely check safety and security of patient areas
- Greet clients promptly and cheerfully, offering useful and positive feedback about their pet's care
- Restraining of pets for safety and team safety
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure a positive work environment
Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, crouch, walk multiple times per day for care of pets
- Desire to learn and adapt to changing situations

- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Qualifications
- Experience with animal care and handling
- Strong communication skills
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Pay
The pay range for this position is from $10 on weekdays to $12 on weekends.
Schedule
Hours range from 5:30a-12:30p, 8a-4p, 12p-7p.
