About the role
The Kennel Assistant is responsible for providing high-quality care and support to the animals in the kennel.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain kennels and animal living areas
- Feed and water animals according to schedule
- Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress
- Administer medications as directed by veterinarian
- Provide daily exercise and socialization for animals
- Assist with training and behavior modification programs
- Handle administrative tasks such as record keeping and inventory management
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with animals, preferably in a veterinary setting
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good physical stamina
- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR
