Kennel Assistant

About the role

The Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Byron Center is seeking a Kennel Assistant to support their growing hospital. The purpose of the Kennel Assistant (KA) is to provide husbandry care for the patients, assist all doctors and staff, and maintain care for the facility and hospital grounds. The role is valued as an integral part of the hospital team.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Animal husbandry care
• Patient restraint
• Restock hospital supplies
• Bathing/Grooming as needed
• Facility & grounds maintenance; ensure a clean hospital, including restrooms and lobby cleanliness, light maintenance in parking lot areas, etc
• Participate in team meetings and trainings as requested
• Continue to learn and develop a strong skill set
• Participate in staff training as requested
• Maintain a positive attitude and have fun!
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• A passion for animals
• Strong leadership skills
• A commitment to providing exceptional care
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading)
• Fluency in multiple languages is a plus
