About the role
As a DC Automation & Maintenance Technician, you'll be the go-to person keeping our building, equipment, and automated systems in top shape — from our conveying systems to the everyday repairs that keep the whole operation moving. It's hands-on, varied work where no two days look the same.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of the premises, grounds, building systems, equipment, Dematic conveying systems, Packsize systems, and furnishings
- Keep the Dematic conveying systems running at peak performance on your shift
- Grow into the go-to expert on our systems and help find ways to run them more efficiently
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems — plumbing, electrical, generator, HVAC, appliances, and more — or arrange for repairs when needed
- Schedule and maintain regular testing and service for fire and life-safety systems, including inspections, extinguishers, sprinklers, alarms, emergency lighting, and smoke detectors
- Keep the building looking sharp inside and out — touch-up painting, window and carpet cleaning, lighting, and more
- Support associate moves, including furniture and equipment adjustments, and help with assembly and installation of equipment and furnishings
- Coordinate contractors when a job calls for professional repair
- Manage vendor relationships for landscaping, trash service, janitorial, and other facility services
- Keep storage, warehouse/loading, and custodial areas organized and well maintained
- Maintain accurate records on equipment and building systems
- Maintain, service, clean, and properly store tools and equipment
- Follow health and safety regulations, codes, and procedures, and use the right PPE for the job
- Spot and report safety hazards to your supervisor and take action to fix them
- Help keep the building, common areas, and grounds clean — tidy up spills, take out trash, and keep things looking good
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in a similar maintenance role
- Comfortable using common tools to diagnose, repair, and resolve maintenance issues
- Experience working with automated systems
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, inclusive environment
- Strong attention to detail, with a track record of integrity and professionalism
- A mindset geared toward improving how systems and processes run
- Comfortable learning and navigating automated software
Pay & schedule
- 1st Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- $21/hour starting wage
- Pre-employment background check and drug screen required
