About the role
The Kansas City Community Bail Fund seeks a dedicated professional to support our mission of assisting marginalized community members who cannot afford bail, while also implementing programs that reduce arrests and address systemic inequities.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals who are arrested and unable to afford bail by facilitating their release through the bail fund process
- Implement and coordinate programs designed to minimize arrests and remove barriers for marginalized populations
- Address racial, social, and economic inequities through direct service and program development
- Collaborate with community partners, legal professionals, and advocacy groups to support clients and advance the organization's mission
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, bail disbursements, and program outcomes
- Participate in outreach and education efforts to raise awareness about bail reform and the fund's services
Qualifications
- Commitment to racial, social, and economic justice
- Experience working with marginalized or incarcerated populations
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
- Knowledge of the criminal legal system and bail processes preferred
- Bilingual skills are a plus
