About the role

Brooklyn Org is offering microgrants up to $10,000 for community-based organizations in Brooklyn with budgets under $100,000. Applications are accepted year-round, supporting racial and social justice initiatives.

Responsibilities

Community and neighborhood-based groups can apply for general operating support microgrant funding of up to $10,000 for one year to support organizations that advance racial justice and provide critical resources to BIPOC and other groups that have been historically disempowered and discriminated against across Brooklyn.

Requirements

  • Organizations must be based in Brooklyn or actively working in Brooklyn.
  • Organizations must have an annual budget in the last fiscal year under $100,000.
  • Organizations must be a 501c3 or operating under the auspices of a 501c3 fiscal sponsor.
  • Organizations must have at least one year of operations and programming.

Selection Criteria

Preference is given to groups founded by members of the community in which they work, organizations that work at the community or neighborhood level, responding directly to a need in their community, organizations that engage volunteers and community members in their work and are not solely the project of one person, and are explicitly focused on racial and social justice.
