KBF Operator - MTW Nights

About the role

To support or operate designated machine to meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to read patterns and blue prints.
• Intermediate knowledge of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments (e.g., calipers, protractors, tape measures).
• Prepares and stages glass for the Special Fabrication process the employee is assigned.
• Knowledge of operating and maintaining machines including daily/weekly TPMs.
• Performs duties in a safe manner using all approved safety equipment as instructed.
• Performs duties in accordance with the Business Process Documentation.
• Participates in Viracon's Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding team performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements.
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area throughout the workday.
• May help other Production areas when necessary.
• Maintains a stock of equipment to perform tasks.
• Maintains an effective working relationship with all department employees.
• Detects equipment malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining and adjusts machine, within capabilities or controls as required to assure quality of production.
• Reports all machine malfunctions to Supervisor/Lead.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED preferred but not required).
• Ability to read and understand work instructions (English).
• Mathematical skills related to measurements.
• Familiar with operating power tools.
• Ability to take supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team member.
• Must be able to safely perform essential job responsibilities.
• Regular full‑time attendance.
• Promotes Viracon in a positive manner and obeys all policies.
• Physical requirement: Heavy work.
