Minimum Qualifications

The minimum qualification to apply for a teacher, librarian, or counselor position is a Bachelor's Degree, except for designated Career and Technology Education (CTE) positions. If hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program, you have up to 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license. You must enroll in a program and actively pursue Hawaii licensing requirements each year, as set by the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB). It is your responsibility to ensure the program aligns with the teaching position you are hired for. Upon hire, you must have a valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit.

Pay
