About the role

We are seeking hard-working, fully-bilingual foreign language interpreters to provide in-person interpretation for our local Nebraska clients. This is an opportunity to use your cultural knowledge to help non-English speakers in your community while enjoying flexible hours and great job satisfaction. We have an immediate need for Karenni interpreters in the Omaha area.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation for medical and other appointments
• Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Use an online portal to print and upload vouchers

Requirements

• Fully bilingual
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Must have transportation to attend local appointments
• Access to a printer
• Technical skills for learning and using an online portal
• Interpreting experience and/or certification preferred
• Must pass background checks and drug screens
• Must provide proof of vaccination or request a medical/religious exemption

Schedule

This is a PRN (as needed), part-time independent contractor position with flexible hours based on your availability, languages spoken, and client needs. While hours are not guaranteed, you must have some availability Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, as this is when services are typically needed.

Proof of vaccination is required to comply with our clients' health and safety requirements. All medical information will be handled confidentially in accordance with applicable laws.
