IT Applications Developer - EDI/translator
Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is searching for an IT Application Developer located on the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) Translator development team. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, STEM OPT, or remote work.
About the role
The translator development team enhances and maintains Edifecs XEngine Translator applications. These server-based middleware applications interface with a custom trading partner enrollment and authentication system, validate and translate X12 HIPAA EDI transactions between trading partners and the MMIS system. This is a full-time, permanent, on-site role in Lincoln, NE.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior developers in all phases of software development, configuration, integration, connectivity, and testing activities for server applications in a large-scale IT environment.
- Perform application development, database administration, configuration management, and application/production support.
- Work closely with business analysts, technical analysts, managers, and business sponsors.
- Gather requirements, conduct analysis, design (functional and technical), construct, test, implement, and provide production support.
- Use tools such as MS SQL Server, DB2, ODBC, UDB, XEngine, XEServer, EAM, TM, TPM, Tableau, and MQ.
Requirements
- Experience, education, or training in coding computer applications.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Experience working on small to medium-sized projects.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience coding and supporting computer applications.
- Experience with Edifecs XEngine applications.
- Knowledge of the X12 HIPAA transaction set.
- Experience working with servers, including installation and upgrades.
