About the Role
Supervises, assigns, coordinates, and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel based on their skill, experience, and job knowledge. Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity, and assists in the development of training procedures. Translates broad strategies into practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to execute them.
Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job, including adherence to drawings and procedures. Oversees manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations with significant financial impact on company performance. Supervises qualified trades staff and monitors job and budget performance across all shifts.
Newport News Shipbuilding is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus to new Foreman hires, including current employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree OR
- Apprentice Certification OR
- High School diploma and 4 years of combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military experience OR
- Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical field and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade, and/or military experience
Pay
Salary range: $92,000.00 to $117,000.00. The anticipated range represents the estimated base pay for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
