About the Role

Supervises, assigns, coordinates, and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel based on their skill, experience, and job knowledge. Oversees and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity, and assists in developing training procedures. Translates broad strategies into practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to execute them.

Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job, including adherence to drawings and procedures. Oversees manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations with significant financial impact on company performance. Supervises qualified trades staff and monitors job and budget performance across all shifts.

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new Foreman hires, including current employees. Eligibility applies to qualifying requisitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR
  • Apprentice Certification OR
  • High School diploma and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military experience OR
  • Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical field and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade, and/or military experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience as a Production Foreman or PST Foreman

Pay

Salary range: $92,000.00 to $117,000.00. Final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
