About the role
A candidate must hold and be HQ in the Elementary K-6 (025) license area.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement high-quality instruction aligned to state standards and district curriculum.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
- Utilize assessment data to monitor progress, inform instruction, and provide targeted interventions.
- Establish and maintain a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and student engagement.
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues to support academic and social-emotional development.
- Effectively manage classroom routines, procedures, and student behavior to maximize instructional time.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, support staff, and administrators to improve student outcomes.
Requirements
- Hold and be HQ in the Elementary K-6 (025) license area.
- Non-licensed, residency licensure candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum 2.7 GPA, and 24 semester hours of related courses; OR pass the Pearson Foundations of Reading test AND either the Praxis 7813 Math test or the Math subtest of the Pearson General Curriculum test.
- Examples of related courses include: Birth-Kindergarten, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, English/Language Arts, Family Studies, Mathematics, Psychology, Reading, Sciences, Social Studies, Sociology.
- Eligibility for the residency license must be established prior to a contract offer.
