About the role
Assists the teacher in increasing engaged instructional time for targeted K-5 students.
Responsibilities
- Completes tasks assigned by the teacher to support classroom instruction
- Supervises children in the classroom and during breaks
- Participates in ongoing training to enhance teaching and management skills
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with students and staff
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience working in a school or with children with special needs
- Experience supervising children
- Demonstrated desire to learn new skills and participate in training
- Willingness and ability to learn teaching and management methods for special needs students
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of individuals
- Valid IVP Level One AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience working in a school or with children with special needs
- Experience supervising children
